Council of Europe exhibition on e-democracy The Directorate of Democratic Institutions has prepared a travelling exhibition on e-democracy in order to highlight the ways in which e-democracy can improve citizen participation and facilitate bottom-up and top-down initiatives and to promote the Committee of Ministers’ Recommendation on e-democracy. The exhibition will travel extensively including to the 2009 Conference on electronic democracy (edem2009, Vienna 7-8 September), the European Dialogue on Internet Governance (EuroDIG, Geneva, 14-15 September, the 2009 Global Forum on Modern Direct Democracy (Seoul, South Korea, 13-16 September) which entails a ceremony on 15 September to commemorate the International Day of Democracy, the Forum for the Future of Democracy 2009: “Electoral systems: strengthening democracy in the 21st century” (Kyiv, 21-23 October), the 17th Plenary Session of the Congress of Local and Regional Authorities in October and the Internet Governance Forum, Sharm el Sheikh in November 2009. The Council of Europe is keen to show this exhibition at events related to the discussion and promotion of democracy and good governance.
