Council of Europe exhibition on e-democracy

The Directorate of Democratic Institutions has prepared a travelling exhibition on e-democracy in order to highlight the ways in which e-democracy can improve citizen participation and facilitate bottom-up and top-down initiatives and to promote the Committee of Ministers’ Recommendation on e-democracy.

The exhibition will travel extensively including to the 2009 Conference on electronic democracy (edem2009, Vienna 7-8 September), the European Dialogue on Internet Governance (EuroDIG, Geneva, 14-15 September, the 2009 Global Forum on Modern Direct Democracy (Seoul, South Korea, 13-16 September) which entails a ceremony on 15 September to commemorate the International Day of Democracy, the Forum for the Future of Democracy 2009: “Electoral systems: strengthening democracy in the 21^st century” (Kyiv, 21-23 October), the 17^th Plenary Session of the Congress of Local and Regional Authorities in October and the Internet Governance Forum, Sharm el Sheikh in November 2009.
