Developing instruments for higher education reform together: Regional Conference on Qualifications Frameworks in the European Higher Education Area under the Slovenian Chairmanship of the Council of Europe

The Slovenian Presidency of the Council of Europe, in relation with the Council of Europe’ Directorate of Education organized the second meeting of the regional network The meeting was held in Ljubljana the 29 and 30 of June 2009.
The main objective was to reflect on the establishment of the regional network, aiming to promote and share the experiences on Qualifications frameworks developments in South East Europe against the European qualification framework. European High Education Area. The SWOT analysis (Strengths, Weaknesses, Threats, Opportunities) of the actual developments were presented.
The meeting defined the working priorities for the network and asked a group of 3 persons, with the support of the Council of Europe, to follow the development of the network. These person are Professor Selda ÖNDEROĞLU, Turkey ; Professor Mile Dzelalija, Croatia as well as one representative of the Slovenian Ministry of Higher Education, Science and Technology.
Representatives of Albania, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Croatia, Montenegro, Romania, Serbia, Slovenia, “the former Yugoslav Republic of Macedonia” and Turkey were present. The European Students Union was present as observer. The meeting was opened by Ms Majda Širok, Acting Director General for Higher Education, Ministry of Higher Education, Science and Technology.
