Another Golden Bear for Eurimages!
The Golden Bear at the 60th Berlinale film festival was awarded to the German-Turkish co-production "Bal (Honey)", directed by Semih Kaplanoglu and supported by Eurimages. This film, which closes his autobiographical "Yusuf Trilogy" following Yumurta/Egg and Süt/Milk and tells the story of a child who learns about the mysteries of nature from his bee-keeping father, also received the Ecumenical Jury Prize. The film was produced by the director in co-production with Germany’s Johannes Rexin and Bettina Brokemper for Heimatfilm. The award of the prize to this talented director is also a reward for the choices made by the Eurimages Fund, which previously supported Semih Kaplanoglu's film Melegin Düsüsü in 2003 before the production of all three films in the trilogy.
