Karlovy Vary International Film Festival

The 45th Karlovy Vary International Film Festival which took place from 2 to 10 July 2010 presented audiences with a wide selection of the best new European cinema, including four co-productions supported by Eurimages:
- in official competition: 3 Seasons in Hell by TomŠš MašŪn (CZ, DE, SK) and Just between us by Rajko Grlić (HR, SI, RS) and - in the competition "East of the West": Aurora by Cristi Puiu (RO, FR, DE, CH) – selected at the last Cannes Festival - and The Temptation of St. Tony by Veiko ’unpuu (EE, SE, FIN) – in competition at Sundance -.
The award for Best Director went to Rajko Grlić for his bittersweet film Just Between us, starring Miki Manojlović as an aging Lothario. Just Between Us also received the Europa Cinemas Label and will receive promotional support and be screened at cinemas in the Europa Cinemas network.
In the festival's East of the West competition Cristi Puiu's Aurora won the top prize, with Special Mention going to Veiko ’unpuu's The Temptation of St. Tony.

Info for exhibitors

  • From 1 January 2016, the rules for Eurimages' support for theatres have been modified. A theatre that wishes to join the network must apply before 30 June at 6pm of the current year for an accession the following year.

    Full participation in the Creative Europe-Media Sub-programme is announced for 2016 for “the Former Yugoslav Republic of Macedonia”, Albania and Serbia. Therefore these countries will no longer be eligible for Eurimages’ theatre support programme.

    Only theatres located in Eurimages member states that do not have access to support under the Creative Europe MEDIA programme are eligible for the Eurimages programme of support for theatres: Armenia, Georgia, Russian Federation, Switzerland and Turkey.

     

Info for distributors

  • From 1 January 2016, the rules for Eurimages' support for distribution have been modified.

    Full participation in the Creative Europe-Media Sub-programme is announced for 2016 for “the Former Yugoslav Republic of Macedonia”, Albania and Serbia. Therefore these countries will no longer be eligible for Eurimages’ distribution support programmes.

    This support is intended for professionals based in Eurimages member states which do not have access to the EU Creative Europe-MEDIA distribution programme: Armenia, Georgia, Russian Federation, Switzerland and Turkey.
