CONTEXT

Presenting history and remembrance in a museum setting plays an important role in the cultural transmission and in the citizen’s reflection on the past. By means of a series of presentations and virtual visits during the workshop, participants will be invited to examine the various forms these displays can take and deconstruct their related vision of the past. The invention of identity attributes in particular, which they sometimes make possible will be questioned, the respective roles of heritage and citizen’s dimensions in the different sites as well as the concrete ways in transmitting their content.

Furthermore, the issue of school visits will be raised, their preparation and the different ways to give them sense. This reflection will enable teachers to engage to a thoughtful didactic approach mobilising the pupils’ potential to the best.
