CONTEXT
The aim of the training activities will be on how to develop students’ metacognitive abilities, self-regulation and problem solving. Moreover, emphasis will be given on the development of metacognitive activities in a cooperative setting and the effect of metacognitive instruction on solving authentic tasks. A third dimension will focus on promoting teachers’ mathematical reasoning and self-regulation in order to enable them to develop students’ thinking skills.
After the completion of the workshop, participants will be expected to organise their classes and lessons so that their students will be in a position to control and regulate their own cognitive processes regardless of the specific domains and their related assigned tasks.
TARGET GROUP
Teachers of primary and secondary education. Regarding the Secondary Teachers, priority will be given to those teaching maths and sciences (physics, chemistry, biology) and theoretical subjects like history, modern and ancient Greek, religious knowledge and foreign languages.
