With the support of a panel of education experts, ODIHR together with the Council of Europe and UNESCO has been drafting guidelines for educators on combating intolerance and discrimination against muslims. This new publication provides guidance to educators on how to identify, prevent and respond to the manifestation of intolerance and discrimination against muslims in the school context. It primarily addresses teachers working at secondary school level, covering both formal and informal education. In order to ensure that the Guidelines have a broad geographical relevance, the three organisations are keen on consulting a representative range of stakeholders from across the OSCE region, including government officials, educators and civil society representatives. For this purpose a consultation meeting on "Guidelines for Educators on Combating Intolerance Against Muslims" was held in Vienna on 16 May 2011.
