Meeting of the Group of Experts on the
conservation of large carnivores in Europe

The Group of Experts on the Conservation of
Large Carnivores in Europe is holding its
next meeting in Switzerland on 24-26 May
2012. Organised in collaboration with the Large Carnivore Initiative for Europe (LCIE)
and the Swiss Federal Office for
Environment, the meeting will aim at
reviewing progress in the implementation of
three Recommendations of the Standing Committee
to the Bern Convention from 2005, 2008 and 2010.
On the second day of the meeting, various
case studies will be presented and discussed
by the experts on topics as the
management of large carnivores and the
definition of "appropriate" large carnivore
densities for European states.
