The Committee:

- noted the information document;

- supported the European Information system – HEREIN Data base;

- recommended the follow-up and launching of HEREIN3 and to reinforce the network of national Coordinators;

- thanked member States for their continued financial support in the development of HEREIN.”

Herein 20121. Third European Conference of Ministers responsible for the cultural heritage (Valletta, 16-17 January 1992). Resolution No. 3 on the priorities of a pan-European cultural heritage project

- Introduces the idea of a pan-European cultural heritage project to set the integrated conservation of the heritage within the context of trans-sectoral policies for the physical and human environment; Mentions the compilation of a periodically updated European directory of heritage policies and the development of a programme for exchanging information on policies; Launches the idea of developing a European network of Heritage skills and crafts managed by the Council of Europe.

 

Herein 20122. Fourth European Conference of Ministers responsible for the cultural heritage (Helsinki, 31-31 May 1996). Resolution No. 1 on the cultural heritage as a factor in building Europe

- Invites the Council of Europe to set up a permanent information system (European Heritage Watch Network) to keep authorities, professionals, researchers and training specialists in touch with heritage developments in other countries.

 

3. 5th Session of the European Conference of Ministers responsible for Cultural Heritage (Portoroz, Slovenia, 6-7 April 2001). Resolution No. 2 on the Council of Europe’s future activities in the cultural heritage field, 2002-2005.

- Invites the Council of Europe to permanently establish the European Heritage Network. The original aims and objectives of the Network are extended and further detailed.

 

Herein 20124. Council of Europe Framework Convention on the Value of Cultural Heritage for Society (Faro, 27.10.2005)

- By signing the Faro Convention, Parties undertake to develop, through the Council of Europe, a monitoring function covering legislations, policies and practices concerning cultural heritage and to maintain, develop and contribute data to a shared information system, accessible to the public, which facilitates assessment of how each Party fulfils its commitments under the Convention. (Section IV, Monitoring and co-operation, articles 15-17).
