Description
European Heritage Days will be celebrated in Ankara which is an important city of cultural heritage. Theme of Heritage Days in Turkey is specified as ‘Management and Heritage. The aim of this theme is to support the local authorities which embrace the cultural heritage by their historical conservation studies as plans, projects, implementations, etc. Managing the heritage actively by means of local administration is substantial and valuable to emphasize the richness of diversity, locality and regional differences. |

Description
European Heritage Days will be celebrated in Antakya which is an important city with its multi-cultural and multi-layered character. Theme of Heritage Days in Turkey is specified as ‘Living With Heritage’. The aim of this theme is to raise the awareness of the public through their cultural values (tangible and intangible heritage) and cultural assets in which they live with and to announce the interaction between the heritage and the community.
European Heritage Days are conceptually designed to be held as 3 days activities. The activities of these days are aimed to emphasize the consciousness of multi-cultural structure, common heritage, sense of belonging, and sense of heritage in daily life. Additionally, the activities will be designed for all age groups to encourage the participation of local community to bring up the theme to agenda of both the city and the country.
