Journées Portes Ouvertes

Doors Open Days is Scotland’s largest free architectural heritage event. In 2011 more than 900 buildings are expected to open, generating over 250,000 visits to sites and hidden architectural gems of all kinds in locations throughout Scotland. The event brings together people from all walks of life in celebration of the fascinating architecture that surrounds us and the stories that these buildings can tell. Every year, over 5,500 volunteers give their time to run tours, activities and "open doors" for the public. This year the event is support by Historic Scotland and Event Scotland.
