Second European Heritage Forum on "Heritage, Creativity and Innovation"


The 2nd European Heritage Forum on "Heritage, creativity and innovation" took place in Ljubljana, on 22-23 September 2009, within the framework of the European Heritage Days – a joint action of the Council of Europe and the European Commission.


It was a contribution to the 2009 European Year of Creativity and Innovation and was organised in the context of the Slovenian Chairmanship of the Council of Europe’s Committee of Ministers.


150 participants from Council of Europe member States, Slovenia and international institutions and organisations participated in the Forum at the Brdo Congress Centre. The Forum was opened by the Minister of Culture of Slovenia, Majda Sirca. The Forum was organised in two plenary sessions on "Innovation and creativity in heritage interpretation" and "Heritage and images".


They were followed by group session with the participants working together at tables of 10 with an expert to facilitate the discussions.


The report of the Forum by the General Rapporteur, Paul Drury is available and a film of the events in Slovenia will be put on the European Heritage Days website.
