The Guiding Principles for Sustainable Spatial Development of the European Continent were adopted at the 12th Session of the CEMAT held in Hanover in 2000 and incorporated into Recommendation (2002) I by the Committee of Minister to Member States on the Guiding Principles for Sustainable Spatial Development of the European Continent.
