The PCDK Project

The "EU/CoE Support to the Promotion of Cultural Diversity" is a joint action financed by the European Union and the Council of Europe. It is managed by the European Commission Liaison Office to Kosovo* and has been implemented by the Council of Europe since October 2009. The aim of the project is to strengthen the sustainable protection, promotion and rehabilitation of cultural heritage in Kosovo, using cultural heritage as a tool for reconciliation and dialogue between communities, as well as for economic development and social cohesion.

The activities of the LDPP component in the Pejė/Pec region aim to contribute to the regional strategy for sustainable economic development in the related region by creating a database of the cultural heritage capacity (traditional vernacular or urban and residential houses, churches, mosques, hamam, bridges, towers, ‘kullat’ folklore, handicrafts, costumes and other living traditional expressions) and natural heritage potential (rivers, mountains, valleys, waterfalls etc) for development of cultural tourism.
