The Group of Experts on Protected Areas and
Ecological Networks meets in Strasbourg on
18-19 September 2012 for the 4th time.
During this two-day meeting, experts on
protected areas will be informed on the
state of play of the Emerald Network
constitution process. Delegates will be
debating on how the management of the Emerald
sites should be organised as well as how to
practically report on the Emerald Network
process and progress. In addition, the experts will also
discuss the implementation of the
Pan-European Ecological Network and most
importantly, they will debate a Draft Action
Plan for its future development. The meeting will count
on the participation of officials from the
Council of Europe, the European Union, as
well as with representatives of Contracting
Parties and Observer states and NGOs to the
Bern Convention.
