Introduction

The objective of this activity is to review national policies with regard to irregular migrants in order to identify best practices in the field.

Progress

Since 2006, ten national reports have been drafted on policies on irregular migrants covering:

1st series (in two volumes):

Each series of reports is accompanied by a synthesis reports, drafted by the Research Director, that underlines the main issues covered and summarises best practices identified by national reports.

CDMG

The first series of reports was approved by the CDMG in 2007 and published the same year.

The second series of reports was approved for publication by the CDMG at its 57th meeting, held on 28 and 29 May 2009. It is expected to be published before of the first semester 2010.

The results of the whole activity will be presented next year at the seminar organised in Poland in co-operation with the Polish and Portuguese authorities..
