International Conference "National Integrated strategies to eliminate violence against children"

Vienna, 20-21 May 2010

On 20 and 21 May in Vienna, the Council of Europe, the Austrian Federal Ministry of Economy, Family and Youth and the Office of the UN Special Representative of the Secretary General on Violence against Children are organising an international conference on "Integrated national strategies to eliminate violence against children". The conference is inspired by the recommendations contained in the 2006 UN Study on Violence against children and aims to:

- promote the development and implementation of integrated national strategies on the rights of the child and elimination of violence against children;
- support the prohibition of all forms of violence, including within the family/home;
- encourage better collection, analysis and dissemination of national data on violence against children.
