14.06.2011 -The European Commission helped the
organisation “Missing Children Europe” to mark its 10th anniversary with an
important high-level conference. The Conference also aimed at raising
awareness about the existence of the « 116 000 » hotline, exchange good
practices, and identify practical tools to help remove the obstacles for the
implementation of the hotline in all EU Member States. It attracted
participation from member state representatives, national operators and
experts on the missing children hotlines, child alert mechanisms and child-friendly
justice. The Council of Europe was represented by its Ambassador to the EU,
Torbjørn Frøysnes.
