President Michel Platini has joined the list of VIPs taking part in the
ONE in FIVE Campaign initiative “Kiko’s Friends”. During a meeting with
Ms Maud de Boer-Buquicchio, Deputy Secretary General of the Council of
Europe, Mr Platini has signed the banner and has expressed his support to
the Council of Europe ONE in FIVE Campaign to stop sexual violence
against children.
The initiative "Kiko’s Friends" has been launched in Venice on the 9th
September during a round table entitled “Shedding light on a taboo:
Cinema’s contribution to the elimination of sexual violence against children”,
an event co-organised by the Council of Europe and the Venice Biennale in
the context of the Venice Film Festival.
The initiative "Kiko’s Friends" is part of the Council of Europe ONE in FIVE
campaign that aims to equip children, their families/carers
and societies with the knowledge and tools to prevent and report sexual
violence against children, thereby raising awareness at all levels of
society.
Mr Platini visited the Council of Europe in the framework of the activities
of the Enlarged Partial Agreement on Sport (EPAS). He has been invited by
the Ministers’ Deputies to participate to an exchange of views with the
Minister of Youth and Sports of Serbia, Snežana Samardžić-Marković, and the
Council of Europe Deputy Secretary General Maud de Boer-Buquicchio.
