CARDS Regional Police Project

a Council of Europe/European Commission regional project against serious crime in South-eastern Europe

Output 1.4 Creation of effective mechanisms to protect witnesses of serious crime

Regional training seminar on procedural protection measures for witnesses, Palic, 26-29 June 2006

One of the key objectives of the CARPO project is to support the creation of effective mechanisms to protect witnesses of serious crime in each of the participating project areas (Albania, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Croatia, Kosovo, Montenegro, Serbia, “the former Yugoslav Republic of Macedonia”). As a result, since March 2004, a series of in-country or regional activities were organized.

The Regional Training seminar on procedural protection measures for witnesses, taking place in Palic from 26 to 29 June 2006, it is one of the last key activities. It is aimed at addressing the need for training for all those involved in witness protection measures. This activity involves the preparation of a training manual on procedural protective measures for further training on this topic in each of the 7 project areas, the training of selected experts as well as the planning of at least 1 training event to be organized in each of the project areas before the end of the project.
