Regional seminar to promote co-operation in the field of witness protection

Budva, Serbia and Montenegro, 23-24 November 2005

The Council of Europe is organising a seminar to promote regional co-operation in the field of witness protection. This seminar is addressed to Heads and Deputy heads of witness protection units, as well as judges and prosecutors involved in this field from Albania, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Bulgaria, Croatia, Hungary, Moldova, Montenegro, Romania, Serbia, Slovak Republic, “the former Yugoslav Republic of Macedonia” and UNMIK.

The working language will be English, interpretation in Albanian, Serbo-Croatian and Italian will be provided simultaneously.

The objective of this seminar is twofold: on one hand, to review multilateral, bilateral and national legal instruments relevant for co-operation in the field of witness protection and on the other hand to discuss specific matters such as the use of modern communication technologies in witness testimony and witness relocation.
