Ferdinand Poni: ''In Albania, we have struck a perfect balance between our priorities and European priorities''  [17/10/2012]

Albania's Deputy Minister of the Interior, Ferdinand Poni, attending the 23rd Session of the Congress, emphasised his country's strong commitment to the strengthening of local and regional democracy. 'In Albania, we have struck a perfect balance between our priorities and European priorities. We have broadened our cooperation with neighbouring States and taken a major step forward in our European integration process', he said. He also stressed how important it had been for Albania to hold the Chairmanship of the Committee of Ministers of the Council of Europe, as well as how much his country had contributed to the consolidation of the European agenda. 'Although its Chairmanship is drawing to a close, Albania will pursue its efforts, demonstrating its attachment to the value and key role of local and regional governance in fostering participation and protecting and facilitating access to fundamental rights for all citizens', he concluded.   (More...)

Ferdinand Poni, Ministre adjoint de l'Int�rieur, Albanie, pr�sent � la 23�me Session du Congr�s, a soulign� l'engagement fort de l'Albanie au renforcement de la d�mocratie au niveau local et r�gional. � En Albanie, nous avons trouv� un �quilibre parfait entre nos priorit�s et les priorit�s europ�ennes. Nous avons �largi notre coop�ration avec les pays voisins et nous avons fait un grand pas dans notre processus d'int�gration europ�enne�, a-t-il d�clar�.
