Congress calls for tangible action from the Cypriot government on its recommendations and continuing reform of local public administration in Moldova

The Congress of Local and Regional Authorities of the Council of Europe urged the government of the Republic of Cyprus today to step up talks on the gradual transfer of urban planning responsibilities to municipalities and to conclude an agreement with the Union of Municipalities on the transfer of powers and responsibilities.

Le Congrès des pouvoirs locaux et régionaux du Conseil de l’Europe a aujourd’hui invité instamment le gouvernement de la République de Chypre à accélérer les discussions concernant un transfert graduel aux municipalités des responsabilités en matière d’urbanisme, et à conclure un accord avec l’Union des Municipalités sur le transfert des compétences.
