Good practices for protecting and promoting human rights highlight
positive developments in human rights work
In promoting respect for human rights in member states, one of the
Commissioner’s aims is to encourage good practices for the protection of
human rights.
Examples of such practices developed in member
states raise awareness of tested solutions to human rights problems
and can also serve as a source of inspiration to other countries.
With this aim in mind, the Commissioner has invited member states to
contribute a good practice example from their country. Each country
has made its own choice for the example and its theme.
The descriptions of good practice provide a concise description of
the practice and information on the human rights issues at stake,
evaluations carried out as well as conclusions for inspiring similar
initiatives elsewhere. Contact details for further information are
also given.
The initiative is part of the on-going dialogue between the
Commissioner and the national authorities. More examples will be
made available progressively.
