Self-assessment descriptors for learners in lower secondary education (developped by the Swiss project "Lingualevel")

EAQUALS undertook an ELP descriptor revision, working from the original EAQUALS/ALTE ELP, the descriptor bank selected from ELP models, the ALTE Can Do statements and the CEFR itself,  in order to (a) provide descriptors for “plus levels”, (b) fill gaps on the original EAQUALS/ALTE ELP checklists, by looking back at the original CEFR descriptors and also at entries on other ELPs, (c) to provide systematic coverage of a specific number of categories, and (d) to develop further the descriptors for strategies. As with the original Swiss and EAQUALS/ALTE checklists, formulation stays close to the CEFR original.

The revised set of descriptors has overall comprehension and 5 sub-categories for Listening and Reading; 5 categories for Spoken Interaction ; 4 categories for Spoken and Written Production; 3 categories for Strategies, and 6 categories for Quality of Language.
