Peter Schieder reviews his term in office [24/01/2005]
The President of the Assembly Peter Schieder gave a press conference today, Monday 24th January, reviewing his 3-year period of office. He underlined the actions of the Parliamentary Assembly in the fight against terrorism, the protection of minority rights and the efforts taken to have the death penality abolished in observer states. Peter Schieder also pointed to the accession of Bosnia and Herzegovina, Serbia and Montenegro and Monaco which took place during his mandate. Finally, he expressed his satisfaction at having participated in the steps taken to ''export'' the Council of Europe's ideas to countries on other continents.

Peter Schieder fait le bilan de son mandat [24/01/2005]
Le Président de l’Assemblée Peter Schieder a fait aujourd’hui, lundi 24 janvier, lors d’une conférence de presse, le bilan de son mandat de trois ans. Il a rappelé les actions de l’Assemblée parlementaire dans la lutte contre le terrorisme, la protection des droits des minorités et les actions entreprises pour abolir la peine de mort dans les pays ayant le statut d´observateur. Peter Schieder a également évoqué l’adhésion de la Bosnie-Herzégovine, Serbie-Monténégro et Monaco pendant la durée de son mandat. Enfin, il s’est félicité d’avoir participé à la prise de contacts avec des pays sur d’autres continents, afin ''d´exporter les idées du Conseil de l´Europe''.
