The Committee of Ministers has given the green light for two new buildings [13/06/2003]
The Committee of Ministers has just agreed to the construction of two new buildings for the Council of Europe: a new general office building and a new building for the European Directorate for the Quality of Medicines. These buildings will be the work of AUKETT Art & Build, of Brussels, the firm which won the architecture competition concluded last December. The buildings will be put up in what is known as the 'European quarter'. The general office building will be opposite the Human Rights Building, on Quai Jacoutot, while the Pharmacopoeia will stand on Avenue Kastner. Work is due to start early next year, so that the buildings' new occupants can move in from April 2006 onwards.

Le Comité des Ministres vient de donner son accord pour la construction de deux nouveaux bâtiments pour le Conseil de l'Europe: le Nouveau Bâtiment Général et le Bâtiment pour la Direction Européenne de la Qualité du Médicament. Ces bâtiments seront réalisés par les lauréats des concours d'architecture jugés en décembre dernier, AUKETT Art & Build de Bruxelles.Les bâtiments seront implantés dans le quartier dit 'Européen', le bâtiment Général face au Palais du droit de l'Homme, le long du Quai Jacoutot, la Pharmacopée le long de l'Avenue Kastner. Les chantiers devront débuter au début de l'année prochaine, pour accueillir les nouveaux occupants à partir du mois d'avril 2006.'
