The Assembly urges member states to do more to prevent the abandonment of children at birth [27/06/2008]
On 27 June the Assembly invited member states to frame a proactive policy to prevent the abandonment of newborn babies, and recommends in particular ante-natal and post-natal medical and social support and appropriate financial assistance for pregnant women and for fathers, and accessible reception facilities.

L’Assemblée incite les Etats membres à mieux prévenir l’abandon des nouveau-nés [27/06/2008]
Le 27 juin l’Assemblée a invité les Etats membres à mener une politique active de prévention de l’abandon des nouveau-nés, et préconise notamment un accompagnement médico-social pré et post natal, des aides appropriées aux futures mères ainsi qu’aux pères, et le développement de structures d’accueil accessibles.
