On 17 April 2013, the Council of Europe Secretary General and the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Armenia signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) on the establishment of the Council of Europe (CoE) Office in Yerevan and its legal status. As this new MoU entered into force on 3 July 2013, the Office has aquired its fully-fledged status, representing the CoE Secretary General vis-à-vis national authorities, promoting and supporting policies and activities of Armenian authorities and of the CoE bodies, related to Armenia’s statutory obligations and commitments as a CoE member, and facilitating the implementation of targeted CoE cooperation activities with Armenia. The Office has been actively expanding its activities focusing on the implementation of the CoE Action Plan for Armenia, 2012-2014.
We hope that the information provided on this website will be helpful to address your questions related to activities of the CoE Office in Yerevan, as well as the work of the CoE in Armenia.
