On 17 June, Ambassador Astrid E. Helle, Permanent Representative of Norway to the Council of Europe, met with Mrs Gabriella Battaini-Dragoni, Deputy Secretary General to confirm Norway’s continued support to the Council of Europe’s work in Ukraine.

The government of Norway has pledged a voluntary contribution of approximately €3,000,000 towards the implementation of the Council of Europe Action Plan for Ukraine 2015-2017. This unearmarked contribution will cover the duration of the Action Plan, which will assist Ukraine in fulfilling its statutory and specific obligations as a Council of Europe member State and to contribute towards addressing fundamental issues of human rights and the rule of law in Ukraine.
