12 September, Strasbourg - Secretary General Thorbjørn Jagland meets with Louis Michel to discuss European Union fundamental rights in 2012.

24 September, Brussels - PACE Sub-Committee on Media and Information Society organizes, in co-operation with the Association Access Info Europe and Open Society Media Program, a Conference on transparency of media ownership.

24-26 September, Strasbourg - The representatives of the 47 member states of the Council of Europe examine implementation of the judgments and decisions of the European Court of Human Rights in 2013. The cases proposed for more detailed examination concern Azerbaijan, Belgium, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Bulgaria, Greece, Hungary, Italy, Poland, Romania, the Russian Federation, Serbia, Slovenia, Turkey, Ukraine and the United Kingdom.

30 September-4 October, Strasbourg - Addresses by Armenian President Serzh Sargsyan, Serbian President Tomislav Nikolić and the Speaker of the Russian State Duma Sergey Naryshkin are among highlights of PACE's forthcoming autumn plenary session. OECD Secretary General Angel Gurría and Peter Maurer, President of the International Committee of the Red Cross are addressing the Assembly.
The first ever Václav Havel Human Rights Prize has been awarded to Belarusian human rights activist Ales Bialiatski.
