30 September-4 October, Strasbourg - Addresses by Armenian President Serzh Sargsyan, Serbian President Tomislav Nikolić and the Speaker of the Russian State Duma Sergey Naryshkin are among highlights of PACE's forthcoming autumn plenary session. OECD Secretary General Angel Gurría and Peter Maurer, President of the International Committee of the Red Cross addressed the Assembly. The first ever Václav Havel Human Rights Prize has been awarded to Belarusian human rights activist Ales Bialiatski.

7 October, Podgorica - Round table of the European Commission against Racism and Intolerance (ECRI). Participants discuss the follow-up given to the recommendations contained in ECRI's 2011 report on Montenegro.

12 October, Brussels - The European Day for Organ Donation and Transplantation. In order to raise awareness and inform the public, the Council of Europe has developed a series of four animated video-clips available on YouTube. There is also a page on the social media platform Thunderclap allowing users to share a common message of awareness about this event.

10 October Strasbourg - A debate on European Identity -"Georgia and the region's European aspirations: building the future on a vibrant past" – takes place with eminent Georgian palaeontologist, anthropologist and archaeologist, Professor David Lordkipanidze.

10 October - The European Committee for the Prevention of Torture (CPT) publishes the report on its June 2012 ad hoc visit to Turkey focused on juveniles in prison, together with the response of the Turkish authorities. 

13-16 October, Reykjavik - PACE President Jean-Claude Mignon makes an official visit to Iceland.
