The International Advisory Panel (“the Panel” and “IAP”) was constituted by the Secretary General of the Council of Europe, Thorbjørn Jagland, to oversee that the investigations into the violent incidents which took place in Ukraine from 30 November 2013 onwards met all the requirements of the European Convention on Human Rights and the case-law of the European Court of Human Rights.

Back Recent meetings of the International Advisory Panel in Kyiv

Following the visit of the Chair of the International Advisory Panel, Sir Nicolas Bratza, to Kyiv on 4th July, new information was submitted by Ukrainian authorities to the Panel concerning the investigations into violent incidents during the Maidan demonstrations.

From 30-31 July the Panel met in Kyiv in order to review the information. The Panel held contact meetings, on 1 August, with the Prosecutor General, with a deputy to the Minister of the Interior, and Deputy Ministers from the Ministry of Health and from the Ministry of Justice.

The Panel  will return to Kyiv for meetings with the relevant actors from 4th to 9th September, during wich it will examine in detail the information submitted to it about the nature and conduct of the Maidan investigations.
