The International Advisory Panel (“the Panel” and “IAP”) was constituted by the Secretary General of the Council of Europe, Thorbjørn Jagland, to oversee that the investigations into the violent incidents which took place in Ukraine from 30 November 2013 onwards met all the requirements of the European Convention on Human Rights and the case-law of the European Court of Human Rights.

Back IAP Chairman Sir Nicolas Bratza has constructive meetings in Kiev

International Advisory Panel

Following his meeting with Ukrainian President Poroshenko at the Council of Europe on 26 June 2014, the Chairman of the International Advisory Panel, Sir Nicolas Bratza, visited Kyiv on 4th July 2014.

In a series of useful and constructive meetings, Sir Nicolas’ met, among others, the Minister for Foreign Affairs, Mr Pavlo Klimkin, the First Deputy Minister of Justice, Ms Inna Yemelyanova, the Prosecutor General, Mr Vitaliy Yarema and Mr Oleg Makhnitskyy, who will act as the Focal Point for the Panel in the Presidential Administration.

The purpose of the visit was to prepare substantive meetings of the Panel with authorities and officials in Kiev in the near future.
