Why the "Dialogues"

Launched jointly by the City of Strasbourg and the Council of Europe in 2009, the "Strasbourg dialogues" aim at involving Strasbourg citizens in discussions on matters of critical importance to our future as Europeans. Held on a regular basis, the "Dialogues" help both to strengthen the "citizens' Europe" and to develop further the Europe of Strasbourg.

Falsified medical products: what are the risks?

with Bart Wijnberg
Council of Europe public health expert

The 50th anniversary of the European Directorate for Quality of Medicines & Health Care (EDQM) is the occasion for inquiry into counterfeiting of medicines.

Public health issues linked with counterfeit or falsified medical products continue to receive regular media coverage in France and Europe-wide. What are the actual risks incurred? How are we protected?

Mr Bart Wijnberg will contribute his vision and experience to afford a better grasp of current public health concerns in the field of medicines and an understanding of how the European institutions collaborate to address them.

The tenth meeting of the Strasbourg Dialogues will be held on Tuesday 8 April 2014 at 6.30 pm in the hall of Strasbourg's Hôtel de Ville.

Gabriella Battaini-Dragoni, Deputy Secretary General of the Council of Europe, will introduce the debate.

The debate will be moderated by Christine Boos, TV journalist on France 3.
