The Week Ahead: Key Events and Meetings

A conference on media freedom and the security of journalists will be organised jointly by the Parliamentary Assembly (PACE) and the French Senate. Editors from Le Monde, the BBC and the Economist, as well as journalists from investigative newspapers in Russia and Ukraine, will take part in the conference. French Foreign Minister Laurent Fabius was invited to take part in this event, during which Council of Europe Secretary General Thorbjørn Jagland and partner agencies are expected to sign a “Memorandum of Understanding” on the creation of new online ‘rapid reaction’ platform for journalists under threat.
