Back Committee on Organ Transplantation and walk against organ trafficking

Santiago de Compostela (Spain) ,  23-24 March

The Council of Europe’s Committee on Organ Transplantation (CD-P-TO) will bring together over 80 internationally recognised experts to discuss the fight against organ trafficking, international co-operation, the development of ethical, quality and safety standards and future projects. On 24 March, a walk against organ trafficking will be held on the pilgrimage route to Santiago de Compostela, and will be followed by a jubilee ceremony. Organised by the Council of Europe, the World Health Organization (WHO), the Spanish National Agency for Transplantation (ONT) and Swiss Transplant, the walk aims to raise awareness of the fight against organ trafficking and promoting voluntary and unpaid organ donation.
