Chechen Republic and Council of Europe focus on young people

What is the current situation of young people in the Northern Caucasus and, in particular, in the Chechen Republic of the Russian Federation? What are the challenges young people in the North Caucasus face to enjoying their cultural, social and civil rights? How to get young people from the region, as Russian citizens and as modern Europeans, to take an active interest in their future?

These are some of the questions discussed in Grozny at a ground-breaking two-day conference organised by the Council of Europe and the Chechen Youth Affairs Ministry drawing on both Russian federal and European experience. The conclusions of the event offer insights into common problems faced by young people from across the Council of Europe's 47 member states.
