Back Study visit of Judges from the Court of Eurasian Economic Union (CEEU)

A working visit of the judges of the Court of Eurasian Economic Union (CEEU) to the Council of Europe and the European Court of Human Rights took place on 14 and 15 June 2017. The CEEU judges attended a European Court’s Grand Chamber hearing and held working meetings with the Court’s judges as well as lawyers of the Court and the Execution Department of Council of Europe. The representatives of two regional judicial bodies discussed various questions and common issues which the judges of international courts face with.

The CEEU judges also held meetings with representatives of their countries (Armenia, Belarus, Kazakhstan, and Russia) at the Council of Europe, Director of Political Affairs Mr Guessel and Mr Lobov, Head of the Human Rights Policy and Co-operation Department, DG-I.

These meetings are an example of a fruitful dialog and very useful exchange of experience between international judicial institutions (the European Court and the Court of Eurasian Economic Union) and raise awareness of the programmes of the Council of Europe outside of the territory of its member states.
