Study Visit of a delegation of Russian Judges to the Council of Europe

A delegation of Russian judges, composed of judges of the Moscow City Court, appeal and cassation courts of Moscow, as well as a district court of Moscow and Justices of the Peace, has visited the Council of Europe and met the Russian judge at the European Court, Mr Dmitry Dedov, lawyers of the ECHR’s Registry, Head of Human Rights Implementation Division, Tatiana Termacic as well as representatives of the Venice Commission, the European Commission for the Efficiency of Justice (CEPEJ), the Consultative Council of European Judges (CCJE), the Consultative Council of European Prosecutors (CCPE), the Department for the Execution of Judgments of the European Court of Human Rights, the European Social Charter Secretariat.

The programme included also a visit of the Tribunal de Grande Instance and its Pôle Financier in Paris and meetings with judges of these institutions organized by Christine Mary, Senior Adviser.

This activity contributed to further dialog between the Russian judiciary community, the Council of Europe and the European Court of Human Rights.
