Back Czech Republic: visit of the Advisory Committee on the Framework Convention for the Protection of National Minorities

A delegation of the Advisory Committee on the Framework Convention for the Protection of National Minorities has been visiting the Czech Republic from 13 to 17 April 2015 in the context of the monitoring of the implementation of this convention.

This is the fourth visit of the Advisory Committee to the Czech Republic. The Delegation is having meetings with the representatives of all relevant ministries, public officials, NGOs, as well as national minority organisations.

The Delegation includes Mr Neven ANDJELIC, Advisory Committee member elected in respect of Bosnia and Herzegovina, Ms Tatjana MURAVJOVA, Advisory Committee member elected in respect of Estonia, Mr Valery OVCHINNIKOV, Advisory member elected in respect of the Russian Federation and Mr. Krzysztof ZYMAN, Administrator, Secretariat of the Framework Convention for the Protection of National Minorities.

Note: Czech Republic submitted its fourth State Report under the Framework Convention in July 2014. Following its visit, the Advisory Committee will adopt its own report (called Opinion), which will be sent to the government for comments. The Committee of Ministers of the Council of Europe will then adopt conclusions and recommendations in respect of the Czech Republic.
