The Awarding Ceremony of the All-Ukrainian Contest on media coverage of local self-government and decentralisation reforms was held on 20 December 2016 in the premises of the Ministry of Regional Development, Construction, Housing and Utilities of Ukraine. The Contest was launched by the Minregion and the Council of Europe Programme “Decentralisation and territorial consolidation in Ukraine” in co-operation with “Internews-Ukraine” (http://decentralization.gov.ua/news/item/id/3911).

The authors of the 12 best media materials were awarded by the prises and diplomas in four following nominations: “On-line publication”, “Article”, “Radio material” and “TV material”. The diplomas were handed over to the winners by the Deputy Prime Minister – Minister of Regional Development, Construction and Municipal Economy of Ukraine Mr Hennadiy ZUBKO and the Head of Operations of the Council of Europe Office in Ukraine Mr Alessandro SAVARIS.

It is planned that winners of the Contest will take part in study visit to one of the Council of Europe member-states and prolongs cover in the mass media the actual issues of local self-government and decentralisation reforms in Ukraine.
