The Council of Europe office in Ukraine within the Joint Programme between the European Union and the Council of Europe "Strengthening information society in Ukraine", the Council of Europe Project “Integration of European standards in the Ukrainian media environment” funded by the government of Canada and the Council of Europe Project  “Preventing and combatting violence against women and domestic violence in Ukraine” funded by the Swedish Government is organising the Conference on Combatting Violence against Women and Gender Stereotypes in the Media. The Conference is scheduled to take place on 04 March 2015 from 9:00 till 13:00 in the hotel Radisson Blu situated at address: 22 Yaroslaviv val street, Kyiv, Ukraine at Embassy Suite conference hall.

The aim of the conference is to share best examples of media coverage of gender sensitive issues; provide a platform for discussion and exchange of best practices as well as elaboration of recommendation.

We are pleased to invite journalists, experts, representatives of NGOs, civil society leaders etc. who systematically cover and work with women's rights to participate in the conference.
