Back Representatives of the scientific community of Ukraine in cooperation with international experts discuss the election law in Ukraine and its compliance with European democratic standards

May 26-27 in Kiev will host an International scientific-practical conference "Electoral legislation in Ukraine in the context of the European democratic standards." This event is organised by the Venice Commission of the Council of Europe in co-operation with the Election Law Institute and the National University of "Kyiv-Mohyla Academy."

The conference will be held on 26-27 May 2016 at the Museum of the National University of "Kyiv-Mohyla Academy" (Kyiv, 2 G.Skovoroda str.)

Representatives of the scientific community of higher education institutions in Ukraine, experts on election law and international experts are invited to participate in this conference.

During the Conference the CoE will present the third edition of the "European democratic achievements in the field of electoral law."

The event will be organized in 4 thematic sessions:

• Principles of electoral law and European electoral standards;
• Subjective voting rights and guarantees of their implementation;
• Information support of elections and of election campaigns;
• An effective system of electoral complaints and appeals.

Working languages will be Ukrainian and English. Simultaneous interpretation will be provided. A draft agenda is attached for your convenience.
