On 17-18 May the finalists and winners of the Contest “Best practices of local self-government” in 2012-2014 participated in the workshop “Best practices of local self-government on co-operation of local authorities and community, local resources and investment development”, which took place in Trostianets (Symska oblast) and Poltava. The event consisted of two components: peer visit to Trostianets City Council and plenary session, it was organised by the Council of Europe Programme in co-operation with the Ministry of Regional Development, Construction and Municipal Economy of Ukraine and in association with Trostianets City Council, Poltava Oblast Council and Poltava Oblast State Administration.

The next workshop will be held in Ivano-Frankivska oblast on 24-25 May.

In 2012-2013 the Contest “Best practices of local self-government” was organised by the Council of Europe Centre of Expertise for Local Government Reform through its Programme “Strengthening the capacity of local authorities in Ukraine”, since 2014 the Minregion took the ownership of the Contest following its decision dd.28 March 2014 No. 96.
