What do you do?

I am a political adviser in the Political Advice Directorate. Our Directorate's chief mission is to aid decision-making by our Secretary General and the leadership of the Organisation. The political adviser's work thus means being constantly in the thick of the action of the Council of Europe as guardian of European values. Indeed, day by day we must produce items of analysis on political developments in Europe, recommendations for action and proposed political messages, all this concerning the varied and complex issues on the Organisation's agenda.

Tell us a little about your background

Before arriving in the international setting of Strasbourg, I worked for about twelve years on projects in support of democratic development and acted as political adviser to institutions and /or high-ranking political personalities.

Why the Council of Europe?

I wanted to join the Council of Europe in order to place my skills at the service of a noble cause whose impact goes far beyond the boundaries of our continent. To work here is to contribute tangibly to the consolidation of Europe – an area and an ideal of universal protection of human rights, democracy and rule of law!
