Court Officer

Defining activities:

  • Manages a certain number of case-files in accordance with the European Convention on Human Rights;
  • Reports to the Head of Legal Division on the results achieved, on further requirements, risks and opportunities of developments and events;
  • Ensures training of junior and assistant lawyers; assesses and evaluates the performance of team members.

Professional requirements:

  • Thorough knowledge of the national legal system, knowledge of constitutional and international law, excellent knowledge of national language;
  • University degree in law

 

Assistant Lawyer

Defining activities:

  • Examines and deals with applications in prima facie inadmissible cases and in cases which can be dealt with in a standard manner;
  • assists experienced case-lawyers, in the preparation of Chamber cases for examination by the Court.

Professional requirements:

  • Thorough knowledge of the national legal system, knowledge of constitutional and international law, excellent knowledge of national language;
  • University degree in law.

 

Legal Advice

Defining activities:

  • Elaborates legal studies and analyses to prepare legal opinions.
  • Reviews and drafts legal instruments (such as treaties, recommendations, internal regulations, agreements, contracts, etc).
  • Follows and keeps abreast of relevant legal issues in own field of competence.

Professional requirements:

  • Sound knowledge and experience of the practice of law, particularly in public international law.
  • University degree in law.
