Today, in Strasbourg, Ms Corina CĂLUGĂRU, Ambassador, Permanent Representative of the Republic of Moldova to the Council of Europe, signed the Istanbul Convention. The Republic of Moldova becomes the 44th member state of the Council of Europe to sign the Istanbul Convention.

At this date, 22 States have ratified the Convention. The Group of experts on action against violence against women and domestic violence (GREVIO) has initiated the evaluation of its implementation (more).
