Paris city council adopts a major report on

The information and evaluation mission "Paris, an intercultural city: links, practices and public policies" aims to highlight the stakes of the intercultural approach, to evaluate the public policies implemented in this respect and to formulate recommendations with a view to perfecting them.

The Mission, led by some fifteen Paris councilors, chose to examine, in turn, the intercultural dimension of Parisian policies contributing to social and cultural inclusion, participatory and citizen dynamics and the attractiveness of the capital city. The Mission was based on:

  • 76 hearings made up of many elected officials and civil society stakeholders;
  • 9 visits to selected emblematic cultural and social sites;
  • a focus on actions carried out in two neighborhoods, the 13th and 20th arrondissements;
  • a comparative analysis with international practices, through the hearing of representatives of the city of Barcelona and close collaboration with the Council of Europe, pilot of the "Intercultural cities Programme".

Presented to the Paris Council in May 2017, this report puts forward 100 proposals to strengthen this dimension, already firmly rooted in practices.
