HELP Anti-Discrimination Course session in Albania

A final training session of the HELP Anti-discrimination course took place in Tirana on 2 December 2016. The training course involved Albanian legal professionals of the Commissioner for Protection from Discrimination, the People’s Advocate, the Ministry of Social Welfare and Youth and several NGOs. The online HELP platform training course is delivered in the context of the EU/CoE Joint Programme “Enhancing the effectiveness of the Albanian system of Human Rights Protection and Anti-discrimination”, in close cooperation with HELP in the Western Balkans and Turkey Programme.

The national consultants/trainers engaged by the EU/CoE Joint Programme made a presentation of Module 6, along with an overview of the International and national legislation, case law and standards. The second part of the training day was dedicated to the preparation and simulation of a moot court on a case of discrimination on grounds of gender, which proved very interesting and held the attention of the participants.
